Online Shop problems

We have had some major problems with Prestashop and updating the shop. I have temporary taken down the shop and is busy installing Magento which should solve all the problems. Sorry for the inconvenience but Exporama Foto wants to create a safe, friendly shopping experience and I was not very happy. I will send out a newsletter as soon as we are up and running again.

New Year 2012

Welcome to 2012 ! We have some exiting things planned for this year so have a peek at the website or sign up for the newsletter.

I have also set up a forum where the photographic community can participate in every thing photographic related. So please join the forums and ask questions. I always say you are never to old to learn something !

The online shopping is coming along and I will keep you up to date on the progress.

I have had major problems with the new site template so for the intermediate time I’m falling back on the old template until problems are sorted out.

The online shopping cart for the Novelty area is also in a test phase and i hope to get it up and running early in the new year.

Please note that we will have a 15% price increase on all Novelty items effective immediately. Our suppliers informed us that due to the weak Rand/Dollar exchange, prices increased dramatically. I will post a new price list as soon as it is available.

A message to all members of SA PHOTOGRAPHY

Please get involved in the PHOTOS FOR HOPE event.
It's a world first event where 100 000 images will be gathered from photographers and sold to raise funds and awareness for The Sunflower Fund.
 
It's going to be widely broadcast leading up to the event and we're hoping to get participation from the entire South African photographic community.
 
The event takes place on Saturday the 16th July at Melrose Arch in Sandton.

Buy A Photo - Save A Life A photo can do so much more than capture a moment in time, it can act as a time machine, transporting you back to point in your life, it can stir something real inside you, it can document an event, a first step, the devastation of an earthquake in Japan and on the 16th of July, with your help, it can save a life.
This is the premise behind 100,000 Photos For Hope, a one day exhibition and auction, that will be held at Melrose Arch on the 16th of July.  Photographers from across the country and even some from across the world have donated signed A4 prints that will be displayed and sold for R100 each, to raise funds for The Sunflower Fund. All moneys raised from the event will go towards growing the South African Bone Marrow Registry and provide hope to those suffering from life threatening blood disorders. It costs R1000 to test someone to the requisite level to be placed on the South African Bone Marrow Registry, a registry that, for many, is the only chance of survival.
When you have someone in your life that has been diagnosed with leukaemia or another life threatening blood disorder, you never know when the next photo you take will be the last. Do your part and be at 100,000 Photos for Hope on 16th July 2011, at Melrose Arch from 09h00. Popular bands Isochronous, Lonehill Estate, Dance You’re on Fire and more are generously donating their time and will provide the soundtrack to the event - stay tuned for the full line-up! Short Update

Just a short update regarding the price list. We are still waiting for certain items so as soon as we have that we will post the updated price list. All price will stay the same at this stage except for canvas stretching or block mounting since the price of wood went up a lot so we have to adjust that price a bit. I’m also looking at a online gallery and a online shopping and ordering cart for the novelty printing. Watch this space.

Novelty Printing

Starting January 2011 Exporamafoto will venture into a new business model with additional services provided in the form of Novelty printing. This new service allows you to print your favorite photo on virtually any medium including glass, ceramic, cloth etc. All our equipment arrived yesterday so the next week we will be setting up and do training so that we can start next year. A updated price list with all the new services should be uploaded to the website within the next week or so.

We also stock framing accessories like hanging plates, copper wire, screws that can be bought in limited quantity. Please have a look at the new price list for more information.

Welcome to our new website ! As i have a bit more time on my hands now (Not really, but I do a bit of time management) I will continue to tinker with the website. I’m also looking into the possibility to do a monthly newsletter at a later date and some photographic book reviews. I have also installed a RSS newsfeed so that you don’t have to go to the site every time to see if something has changed.

I have also included a direct email form to contact me so please mail me some ideas or things that you would like to see on the website.
